Babies are in the air - or is it the flu?

February 11th, 2008 by Grayson's Daddy

Generally, I would characterize myself as a healthy person. I eat well, take my vitamins, get moderate exercise, get my sleep, etc. But, since the beginning of this baby process, I have had two colds and some kind of stomach flu (BM has only had one cold and I would gladly take all the bugs going around if it would prevent her from getting sick). The latter happened last week.

But, to spare you the gory details, I am still recovering from the stomach problem nearly five days after the worst of it. Needless to say, I finally have an excuse for not posting so you know I would have to use it.

We spent the morning at a christening for the daughter of some friends. It was quite a beautiful service and we love seeing them and their family and friends. But, I had to beg out early due to the nagging and slow recovery I am going through. I told BM that I must be getting old since I can’t go right back to eating steak and potatoes after I am sick. Go figure.

On another happier note, another couple we are friends with is having their first child. They live nearby and we are very excited for them and the idea that our baby will have another guaranteed playmate (funny how you start to think of that stuff). But, what is even stranger, is the number of other young couples that we know that are having their first baby. I am guessing it is like when you have braces - you notice them everywhere.

That’s all for now. Hope everyone had a great weekend.

Surprise!
