Shaken Not Stirred
Friday, December 28th, 2007Yesterday, BM and I were out running errands and decided to swing in to a small sandwich shop to grab lunch. We were a little pressed for time, so things were moving pretty quickly at the counter. We each ordered a sandwich, chips, and a bottled drink.
Over the past couple of months, we have been experimenting with different types of bottled drinks. There are many new (to us) drinks on the market that don’t have all the crap that you typically find in most drinks on the market. One of my newfound favorites is a drink called Fuze. They make many different flavors, but the one I like the best is Orange Mango. Fuze is a non carbonated, no artificial colors or flavors drink that you shake up prior to drinking so everything is mixed up nicely. BM has had a few of these drinks over the months but she is still searching for her favorite flavor.
Another drink we have purchased and enjoy is called Izze. It claims to be 100% carbonated juice. To us, it is actually better than Fuze, but it isn’t that easy to come by in our area so we don’t get to have it as often.
Well, the sandwich shop we were at yesterday sells Izze. It was rainy and cold outside so the inside was packed at lunchtime. BM and I both ordered different flavors of Izze. We went and sat at a small table and waited on our food. We waited only a minute or two and out came the sandwich delivery guy. Everything looked great.
BM grabbed a napkin and used it to protect her hand from the small twist off cap on the drink bottle and opened her drink. I grabbed my bottle and was about to open in when BM “realized” she had forgotten to shake hers up. Before I even had a chance to shake mine up, BM put the bottle’s mouth against the palm of her hand and shook it up for a few seconds. I guess she felt like that was enough shaking and pulled her hand away to set the bottle back on the table. That’s when we remembered these drinks are carbonated.
Her Izze exploded everywhere. In fact, I felt like I was watching the winner of the Indy 500 spray champaign all over the crowd of innocent bystanders. It got all over BM, my jacket, the floor, the table and chairs, and maybe even a couple people standing in line next to our table. The funniest thing though, were these two teen girls sitting right next to our table who heard and watch the entire series of events and now BM and I are sitting there laughing our butts off as it looked like we had just taken a quick shower in Izze.
Which brings me to the point of the baby blog entry. Apparently, a little forgetfulness and craziness seem to run in pregnant women. For the most part BM has had no such symptoms, but I am afraid at 25 weeks, we may be seeing some of that come into play. Hopefully, each time we experience these symptoms they will be as funny the Izze shower.
