Wake Up!

November 13th, 2008 by Grayson's Daddy

Since the time change a week or so ago, Gman has continued to wake up around his “normal time.”  In the past, he has slept about 11 hours a night which puts him waking up about 6am.  This means he likes to wake up now at 5am since the time dropped back an hour. For what it is worth, the current time as I write this is 5:37am and he is still asleep. Maybe he is getting the idea that he can sleep later if he wants :)

Here are a few pictures I snapped from the video camera we have over his crib.  As you can see, yesterday, he was up and adam pulling himself up the side of the crib trying to see “what’s out there.” The camera is a night vision camera so to him it was dark when these pictures were taken.

Speaking of climbing, he works really hard on his crawling and standing ever day.  He is very determined and I think that the frustration that comes with being determined has driven him to this point.  We will lower the crib mattress again this weekend so as to avoid having a broken armed baby  :)

Grayson the G’Raffe

November 4th, 2008 by Grayson's Daddy

Here are a few pictures of Gman in his Halloween costume.  He didn’t do any trick or treating yet.  He didn’t want to risk getting bags of oatmeal or pennies.

Six Month Update

November 4th, 2008 by Grayson's Daddy

Gman went for his six month check up two weeks ago.  He is growing as expected.  He weighed in at 19lbs and he is growing fast.

Things have been very busy for BM and I.  We took a few pictures a couple weeks ago and they are below.

We shot a few more pictures this afternoon (rather than me doing the work I should have been doing).  Thought you would enjoy them.

Nearly 6mo Update

October 11th, 2008 by Grayson's Daddy

Gman turns 6 months old this Tuesday.  Hard to believe.  As such we are using the weekend to start him on food.  I don’t fully understand the entire long term feeding schedule yet, but for the time being, he is allowed to have a couple tablespoons of rice cereal each day.  This morning was his first feeding and you can see his first bite in the photo below.  Since I had the camera gear out, I took a few more pics and thought we would share them.  Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Last weekend update

October 11th, 2008 by Grayson's Daddy

We took some pictures last weekend as well as measuring and weighing Gman. I’ve had a small post-it stuck to my computer all week with the measurements as a means to remind me to post it for you all.  G’s weight last weekend was 19lbs and his height was 28.25″.   He seems to be growing right before our eyes. Below are a few of the pictures we took last weekend.

A year of my big head :)

October 2nd, 2008 by Grayson's Daddy

A year ago today, I decided to take a photo documenting a split second each day for the entire year.  Today, I took the last shot and in the end came pretty close to meeting my pic-a-day goal.  Some days I took a couple of pictures and some days I missed all together.  Below is a short video documenting the time in my life where I went from simply being a husband to a wonderful woman to being a husband and a father to a wonderful family.  The last year has been a blessing for me and I thought you all would enjoy and maybe even get a good chuckle out of the video.

Good night!

End of September Update

September 28th, 2008 by Grayson's Daddy

The weekend has been good for Gman.  Everyday he responds just a little quicker to a noise or stimulus.  Everyday he babbles a little more and squirms a little farther.  Everyday he sits up longer before tumping over and he pushes up stronger than he did the day before.  And everyday he sees a little better.  It is just amazing to watch the changes as they happen so quickly - unlike me putting on weight (I don’t see it until my pants don’t fit anymore :)

Below are a few pics of G from this weekend.  As you can see, he loves his superman pose and he has begun to try and “embrace” the incessant clicking of the shutter on the camera.

Weekend Update

September 21st, 2008 by Grayson's Daddy

Well, things are going fine here.  Gman continues to grow and improve in his awareness and communication skills.  He loves to make this really high pitched squeal at the cat and dog.  He giggles when I help him fly like superman.  And, when he is frustrated he makes these cute little grunting noises.

He is still on a three nap schedule with five feedings during the day.  He usually sleeps about 11 hours at night and about 4 hours or so during the day.  Sometime around 6 months we will begin to incorporate cereal into his diet and he will go to two naps a day and four feedings a day. I am just looking forward to those diapers.

During the day, we give him plenty of time in the bumpo chair to let him work on his ability to sit up.  He also gets plenty of tummy time which usually consists of him holding his arms out in front of him and lifting his legs up behind him.  Actually, having spent a few sessions in the gym doing something similar, I am surprised he can indure as much “flying” as he does.

G is very good at lifting up the front of his body with his arms but his legs and torso stay on the ground - think lazy man’s pushup.  He isn’t crawling yet, but I can see the wheels turning as he tries to figure out how to move from point a to b.  Usually, in trying to move from a to b, when he is on his stomach, he trows his arms and legs up and down in one quick motion as if he was trying to blink himself along.  It is very cute to us, but a little frustratiing to him.

Below are a few pictures we took this afternoon.  In two of the pictures, you will see G pretending to be me as I am sure I look just as silly sitting in front of my computer all day.  I love my family :)
